Is a 0% commission checkout legal in India?

Yes. UPI person-to-merchant transactions carry zero Merchant Discount Rate by regulation. ZeroPay simply routes collections over UPI through your own RBI-authorised payment aggregator account instead of a card-based checkout.

Does ZeroPay hold my customers' money?

Accepted Answer

No. Funds move from the customer's UPI app to your payment aggregator and settle into your own bank account. ZeroPay never holds, pools or routes money and operates no nodal or escrow account.

Do I still need Shopify?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Shopify remains your catalogue, inventory source and order record. ZeroPay reads live stock from it and writes the paid order back to it.

What stops overselling?

Inventory for the exact variant is checked through the Shopify Admin API before any payment link is generated. Sold-out items get a polite WhatsApp reply with a link back to your store.

How do you prevent fake payment confirmations?

Every PhonePe callback is validated against its X-VERIFY SHA-256 signature using a timing-safe comparison. An order is never marked paid on an unverified payload.

Are my API keys safe?

Shopify, WhatsApp and PhonePe secrets are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage and are shown masked in the dashboard. Row-level security keeps each merchant's data isolated.

Who handles refunds?

Can I use a WhatsApp Business App instead of the API?

Accepted Answer

Automated stock checks, payment links and receipts require the WhatsApp Business Cloud API with a Phone Number ID and token. The consumer app cannot receive webhooks.
